Entries Now Open - Spring 2011 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show

Entries are now open for the Spring 2010 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show, featuring several new classes and Championship awards in the Olive Oil, Regional Food, Branded Lamb and Deli Meat Competitions.

Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Fine Food Committee Chair Lyndey Milan, says new additions to the Spring schedule will showcase more of the country’s top producers.

“Changes to the Olive Oil competition include the addition of a Champion Boutique Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a Champion Commercial Extra Virgin Olive Oil award,” said Ms Milan.

“Judges are also looking forward to critiquing new classes for specialty olive products and tapenade style products.”

A recent revision of the Branded Lamb competition will now see classes judged on weight.

“Producers entering the grass, grain and open class now have two options. They can submit their product in the 20-23kg class or the 24-26kg class.”

Always in line with current consumer trends, the Regional Food Competition is including verjuice as a class.

The Deli Meat competition features expanded sausage classes, including a specific class for traditional sausages representing a country of origin style. These may include South African Boerwors, Italian Sausages and Bratwurst.

Accepting entries in Regional Food, Deli Meat, Olive Oil, Aquaculture, Branded Beef and Branded Lamb, the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show recognises and rewards innovation, diversity and excellence in agricultural production.

“Winning a medal at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show is the highest accolade possible and a testament to the high quality of a company’s product,” said Lyndey Milan.
